Last weekend we learned that our friend and colleague Curtis McCord had passed away suddenly. We are devastated by the loss, and our hearts go out to his family. Curtis was a kind and compassionate person who cared deeply about the people around him. He had an enduring commitment to justice and fairness that extended far beyond his own community, something that came through clearly in his work. Among a million other things, Curtis was the author of countless editions of Letters and always enjoyed hearing from readers. Curtis was also hilarious and lived a rich life. He was an avid cook, and many of us have a story of being taken to a restaurant we’d never heard of, getting guided through a kitchen supply store, or learning possibly too much about his most recent soup stock. We didn’t know how lucky we were for those moments. We hope you take some time today to be with the people close to you. It’s something more precious than we realize. -CAMP |
